REFRESH THE HOME WITH COLOR, FABRIC AND NATURAL MATERALS
Robb & Stucky Reports New Trends in Home Decor
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Kris Kolar, vice president of interior design for Robb & Stucky Interiors reports that trends in home décor for 2008 reflect sophisticated and refreshing color palettes, bold patterns in textiles and eco-friendly materials.
Color is an impactful way to freshen a home’s interior. In the past couple of seasons, chocolate has been paired soft blues. A twist on that combination pairs chocolate with mint green in 2008. If this combination is too bold for a homeowner’s taste, Kolar recommends pairing chocolate with latte or caramel to soften the look.
Fabrics are always a predominant design element in a room. Bold geometrics and stylized floral fabrics dominate collections whether upholstering furnishings, incorporating as accent pillows or creating window treatments.
Eco-friendly products are also an influence; furniture collections incorporate earthy, natural products such as rattan, coco shell and bamboo. Trends are moving away from the formal, ornate British Colonial style to a more stylized forms made of “green” products to create a tropical look.
“These are examples of current trends that can easily be incorporated into any design plan,” states Kolar. “In addition, the colors, fabrics and materials complement the relaxed sophistication of Southwest Florida.”
